TRAUMA

They broke your skin from you
Tore your tongues from your mouths with such ferocity
You may never find thread strong enough to bind it back to you
And if
By some minor miracle
You reclaim the tongue that was your mother's
It is temporary
You cannot pass it to your children
This is the trauma of colonization

We are not human

Writing again...
